MACHIKO AGANO - Born 1953

Trained firstly as a weaver, Machiko Agano enlighten hand knits using large needles, simple garter stitch from fishing line, fabric and steel wire with the stitches made in an irregular pattern. Depiction installation is fixed at points dependable to the ceiling and floor. Rebuff preference is for materials of non-aligned or no colour allowing the die away of the surrounding area to cover and permeate the work. The wall-mounted work is made from silk organza and bamboo. As with the knitted installation, the desire is to pass on and make visible the delicate labour of air.
